    im not too sure about this, but when you do fishing quests, you sometimes receive special fish in the rewards. also, may need to do higher rank quests for fishing, particular fish can only be found in certain zones at specific ranks: ancient fish in desert on high rank, and theres one thats particular to high rank frozen seaway.

    my guess is that you get the sunfish by fishing in higher rank regions or by the quest rewards for fishing quests.
