  I didn't really like the direction this game took. It seemed like a huge step away from the previous games. Phoenix and Trucy were sort of shoved into the background - which was a shame. Apollo seemed sort of OOC for me.

  Also the game mechanics were changed for the worse. Instead of assisting it seemed more annoying. I didn't expect so much hand-holding seeing as how the previous games were not that way. Overall the general lack of a typical yet enjoyable Ace Attorney game.

  I agree on Trucy being shoved to the side (such a shame, really) but why Phoenix? You play as him for the majority of the cases. How was Apollo OOC? He seemed like in AJ to me with a bit more defined characteristics. Fully agree on the mechanics though! You got way too much help and weren't able to examine everything anymore. However, I still like the game because of its story and characters.

  Visuals, animations and character designs I all love. Storyline, dialogue and character development I wasn't happy with. I may be wrong about Phoenix so that's why I'm playing it through again. Let's see if I change my opinion.

  I didn't say I don't like them, just that they're my least favourites in the series. I like every Ace Attorney I've played so far^^ With AJ my main problems are the many plot holes in the last two cases and that there wasn't a lot of focus on most of the main characters. With PLvsPW it's partly due to me being a way greater AA-fan than PL-fan.

  And they just had to include practically everything that bothers me about the Layton series. Plus the direction the story took in the last case was an absolute catastrophe. But I liked the other court battles! (Though not as much as your average full AA case.) I love Investigations as well! Did you also play the 2nd one?

  Oh okay. Not being a huge PL fan would account for it being your least fav. I'll admit it was a very long game with a sort of anti-climatic ending. But I like both series. I didn't play AAI2 only because it wasn't released in english. I wanna play it though. :(

  As for AJ, I thought the whole thing with Phoenix losing his badge was covered in the right places. But a little more detail would have been nice. The only thing I wanna know is if Trucy and Apollo ever find out that their related and if their mother ever admits her true identity. I guess we just ask for too much lol

  The length wasn't a problem (I love long games^^) but the whole ending/last case. The solution of the mystery was dumb and rendered all the trials before practically useless (typical Layton, I know, but I still hate it), there was no final villain, boring new main characters that I didn't care about, the only interesting one wasn't important at all and Phoenix played a too little role in the end.

  Then you should play the fan translation ;) It's amazing! The idea was neat but I don't like how they went about it. Phoenix had to be way too dumb to walk into Kristoph's "trap". There was too much focus on Phoenix anyway for my taste while Apollo, Klavier and Trucy were basically unimportant in the grand scheme of things.

  The translation is in form of a patch that you apply to a file of the game on your computer. The easiest way to find out how it's done exactly is to just google Investigations 2 fan translation. You should easily get to the website from which you can download it. You might have to read a bit into it but it's not that difficult.

  I have mixed feelings about Kay. I like her but sometimes I think she wasn't really necessary because Miles already has an awesome assistant (Gumshoe) and they just put her in to give him the obligatory cheerful teenage girl sidekick. Why? What did you think of her?
