    Well, Buzzy Beetles are known for living in the caves of the Mushroom Kingdom. The Mushroom Kingdom's caves tend to be dark inside, usually requiring the power of a Fire Flower or some kind of light source to get through, so it actually does make sense for Buzzy Beetles to have the Darkness element in this game.
