Given the number of thorough run logs I've done from LoZ games, it's odd to be crafting my first Play Journal entry from Nintendoland, but ... I set Okamiden down for a bit to sample the six single player games. The bad first: Yoshi's attraction stinks, and dancing is not my thing. What ip is that hot garbage from? The other four are great! Especially the F-Zero and DK-related ones. Versatile

controller eh? (I see br'er Benjamin's point more clearly now.) I won't start pursuit of Stamps and Trophies in most of those six for a while, but I'll definitely start my day with the two I really liked before resuming Chibiterasu's adventure. I am saving the last three LoZ and six Metroid Master pursuits for after playing more of the other ten Attractions. Sigh. New Miiverse, ugh.

I almost passed this by because I was being conscious about the comment limit. Ugh, trying to use Miiverse like normal will be harder than I thought... I agree, Yoshi's attraction isn't my thing. I gave up on getting those stamps out of pure boredom. Dancing was fun though, IMO. That's representing the Game&Watch titles, by the way. DK definitely was my favorite of the single-player games.

@Michael: I'm not sure I'd pay full retail for it now, but would have if I was a day one WiiU buyer. I'm having a really great time without having friends involved yet, and the variety and tie-ins to treasured franchises are top notch. @'doer: Oh it's brutal. I was always so helpful while playing a title, ugh ... thanks for the info on Game and Watch! I tidied up my mising trophies and cleared

Captain Falcon's through the initial 12 stages, which was good enough for gold. Woohoo! I think I've managed to get halfway into DK's, and it's very fun and challenging. Since I went to a second comment - br'er Michael, if you don't mind getting it used it's well worth it. Casual or serious, it seems to have fun for all to me. Off to Nippon as a wolf! :p

The Game & Watch rhythm attraction thankfully is the easiest to score all 5 stamps in, if rhythm isn't your forte. You don't actually need a perfect run for stamp #5. The Yoshi game is pretty difficult but there's no real time limit so it's more of an endurance challenge. I thought DK's and Cpt. Falcon's games were great but my favorite single player attraction is definitely Balloon Trip Breese.

The jumping in Area 9 of DK's has me flabbergasted. I can't seem to get a reliable result out of any technique I've tried ... I can see getting hooked on the Balloon action down the road. I've only scratched the surface of that and the throwing star stuff, but each seems like a fun challenge!

Want to know the trick to getting the jump right in DK's attraction? Try flicking the shoulder button as lightly and quickly as possible. I have advice for the last section too, but I'll let you struggle with that by yourself for a bit before I spill the beans.

Ha! I just concocted the flick technique on my lonesome, but I added a little body english. The last section was tricky too, without any bells, whistles, or other contraptions of calamity.

I finished Okamiden earlier, so I figured I'd finally see what the Pikmin game was like. I expected a bit of navigational puzzling, and through the first eight stages, I've been let down. It's kind of mindless so far. I presume this is nothing like the real games, right? Fading the times for the Master rank on all of them will be challenging tapping I guess ... Getting close on the Prizes, which

I'm thankful for, because the Plinko game has worn thin. :p It's very hard for me to not focus on charging hard at Crash Course and Twister, but I think once I complete the Pikmin stages, I'll try to go through the single player games in a fashion that saves my favorites for last. It will be torture, but if I'm going to be serious about 100%ing this thing, I don't want to leave the dregs for last.

The Pikmin attraction (while not too similar to the real Pikmin games) was a surprise pleasure for me. I strongly disliked the game until I made it my goal to Master all the stages. It's by far the most difficult of the 3 coop attractions to Master, but it is definitely possible. It's so much more than tap-to-win. The strict time limits and no-damage goals requires actual, well, mastery to Master!

Your thoughts on Nintendoland have mainly been like fortune telling as I go through it bro, so it's quite possible I'll grow to enjoy it more when I'm pushing for those times. It is visually appealing. I just wanted the First Master Stamp, and used the first time trial to get it. Seemed like you had to be near flawless so that interests me ...

No, Pikmin is for the most part quite different. For starters, it's not level-based. It's more like Majora's Mask, in the sense that you want to focus on time management. How much can you get done in one day, and how do you achieve this? Figuring out the best way to divide tasks between your army of Pikmin is key. It's an intriguing series, highly recommended.

You finished Okamiden, huh? Any spoiler-free thoughts? Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I didn't look at my notifications on this account until I needed it tonight...

Spoiler free thoughts: It's deja vu from the downgrade in experience from Wind Waker to Phantom Hourglass for me. The dungeon play was phenomenal and more plentiful, but everything else was a notch or two below the original in my book. Another PoNR situation, which I have very negative feelings about that mechanic when the save system functions as it does ... but still quite good. I love PH, heh.

Cool. I have the game at this point, but I still haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Too much going on at the moment... I'm glad to hear that it's still a good game, even if it's not quite on the same level as Okami.
