    A Hero? Raven can promote to one, but he's the only Mercenary that I'm aware of. I believe there is a Hero that can be recruited though.

    yeah, she will appear at the low part of the map along some enemy wyvern riders, be carefull, she is high leveled, you have to talk to her with Eliwood (or that's what I remember from the GBA version).

    To get your own hero class character, try weakening a enemy one and then trow a pokéball at him. Oh, wait... wrong game... Gotta Catch 'em all!

    Just send at least one of your units towards the Shrine of Seals. (Though I imagine that the bulk of your forces will be over there already.) When she appears depends on how fast you are.

    She will. Someone (doesn't matter who) just has to approach the Shrine of Seals for her to appear. If you're playing Eliwood's story, Eliwood is the one who has to recruit her.

    Not really, but there might be some interesting uses for it. I managed to get through ENM without it though. Well, I got it, but it was with Merlinus and, rather than toss it in the convoy since he is the convoy, he put it in his inventory where no one could get it!
