What class did everyone start out as on this game? I am going to pick it up soon, so wanted to get a heads up on the classes.

Woodcutter because you can get dosh easily, but miner Life can give you more dosh (I'm not 100% sure about that)

  • mining is best to start out with if you're planning to be a paladin or merc, woodcutter for hunter, and alchemist and woodcutter for wizard. i wouldn't recomend the wizard class though. anyway if you choose mining also be blacksmith, and if you choose woodcutter also be carpenter.

  • I started as a cook, but I recommend trying Paladin or Mercenary first. Because you'll be adventuring out during the game, it's best to use a better weapon than just a dagger. There are powerful daggers in the game, but longswords or greatswords are generally the better option. Greatswords(merc) are slower attacks, but provide more power. Longswords(Paladin) are more powerful than daggers...

  • Alchemy, as it's really important to have medicines and explosives on hand when adventuring.

  • ...but not as much as greatswords. The advantage over greatswords is you get to use a shield because greatswords are too heavy for one hand. Try Paladin, Miner, and Blacksmith. Miners can gather materials that the Blacksmith can use to create weapons and armor for the Paladin who goes and adventures, defeating beasts. If you do these three lives, you can create usually better weapons and armor...

  • ...than what stores normally sell. By creating your own item, you somewhat reward yourself in battle. You should also consider alchemist after a while, you'll need the potions. It's better to make them than buy potions which'll in turn accumulate into thousands of Dosh spent on Potion. It's better to buy the items needed to make the item rather than the item itself. This'll save you a lot of Dosh.

  • Thanks everyone, this was great advise!

  • I went with the woodcutter to start and may proceed to work on the miner next. I just started so have a lot to learn on the system and only am in the first main outside area.
