    Mercenary, Cook/Alchemist, and in my opinion all 'harvesting' classes are good.

    mercenary is in my opinion most fun wizard is most powerful but heavily relying on sp i perfer cooks to alchemy because you can restore hp and sp and give yourself a buff but if i'm a wizard i always choose alchemy because they both benefit from some of the same stats all gathering are useful but miners are must have if you go physical attack so you can make yourself a better weapon

    A Mercenary's Claymore is powerful and can make fights easier and quicker if the Claymore is used properly. I honestly prefer it over a Paladin's Sword, and I use my Demonic Void frequently against powerful bosses, although the Sword makes up for the lower power with a defense option (shield) and speed. But Merc wins for me. Don't like Wizardry for its wands' often lower power, and cost of SP...

    ...A hunting bow is preferable for its longer-distance attacks and status effects. Though Wizardry can heal you, I found no point as I had MANY Hi-HP potions, superior at that. Harvesting, tie between Mining/Woodcutting, both are crucial in making items needed for other Lifes. ex.     ...sell the fish, simple, and not as useful for other lives, especially if potions are often the better option. Finally, Crafting.     ...a tie. Smithing is HUGE in battle. I don't care how funny fighting with your fists are in this game, you're MUCH better off using a weapon, such as a sword or claymore. In being a blacksmith, you can also create awesome defensive pieces of armor and shields, because no one wants to get one-hit k.o-ed by a Napdragon. Alchemy and Cooking are similar in the way you can restore health and energy...

    ...BUT! Key difference: Food is made for Dosh. Potions are made for battle. If you can make Superior Hi-HP and Hi-SP Potions, you're set. The items needed for these can be found relatively easily, and can be bought. Because of this, I had 99 Superior Hi-HP and Hi-SP Potions at one point, making bosses much easier.     Mercenary sucks compared to Paladin. The attacks are slow, you lose defense and speed. Would you like Strength Boost for 2 minutes (Easily Provided by Mustang) or Invincibility for 2 min? Cooks because a Sup. Magic Milkshake restores 100 sp. and Blacksmith/Carpenter weapons All gathering classes are good 'ccept for fishing.
