  shinys have a very rare encounter rate. you would have to continuously look in the same area for one. there is also the breeding option. you could continuously raise eggs until you hatch a shiny pokemon. its a lot of work so good luck!

  im trying to breed them. from what i read online about it, you have to breed a Pokemon and a Ditto. is it wrong?

  yes a ditto does work. however, every pokemon has a egg group that can breed together. so long as the mother pokemon, the species you want the egg to be , and the father pokemon share a same egg group (eg. field egg group) they can breed. look on bulbepidea (cant spell >.>) for the specifics of breeding

  You're thinking of the masuda method. One of the parent pokemon has to be foreign. Yeah it could be a ditto if you wanted. You could also chain for shinies but that is a long process. It'd take to long to explain here so google it or youtube it.

  if you complete the national pokedex (not including event pokemon) you get a shiny charm from the professor in lumiose city that increases the chance of getting a shiny pokemon!
