Bowser joins you after you've completed World 8. The Koopalings, however, won't join you until you've defeated them at their special world airships. As for Bowser Jr., you have to defeat him at Special World 8-Tower 3 before he'll join you.

@Lady Okami: Sorry, but that won't work. You have to progress even further into the game, as the Koopalings can't be recruited by normal means. In Larry's case, he won't join you until you've defeated him at Special World 1-Airship.

Thats what i meant. I beat the world 1 airship but he didn't join me. Do I have to try again, or rebattle him after i beat world 8?

To be more specific, Larry will never join you until you've defeated him at ★World 1-Airship. ★World 1 can't be accessed until after you've completed World 8.
