    When I ran into a Scorpion for the first time, I was JUST coming out of the Bug Catching contest tent from getting first place victory... that's a good way to ruin a good day, if you ask me...

    They're more like "uncommon" than "rare". You should find one easily enough if you stay out long enough on Summer nights.
