Your party probably just isn't strong enough. You may have to level grind and/or take better advantage of the leader/helper skills that Mario and Luigi have.

Thank you, M&SG. I thought maybe I need to play older levels with this team to make them stronger. Will that help? I can also level them up in Toad's Place, right?

@Dαηíέllέ: Actually, the best way to level up your party members is to hunt down the Coin Coffers. They offer a lot of experience points when depowered.
