PSA for Snipers (Charger users): 1) NEVER pick 1 spot to stay at & go back to. You need to keep moving! Staying in 1 place lets the enemy know where to expect you 2) You have to keep moving so you can be in position to cover the Tower or Rainmaker. If your teammates are making a push for the enemy base, they'll need you to cover their approach 3) Kills don't matter, only the Victory Conditions!

This was driving me nuts all night. One match I had 3 of them on my team literally hangin in one place and leaving me to the tower.

Whats worse is when the Snipers are higher Rank than me, so they should know better! I hate how the Rank system is SOLELY team-outcome-based. That makes Ranking up something to to with being lucky you get competent teammates, rather that actually reflective of Skill.

Earlier, I had a team of 2 Gats & 2 Snipers! We actually won, no thanks to the snipers (the other Splattling pulled his weight), but it felt like I was doing EVERYTHING! I had a crazy kill count that match (think it was 13). Granted, having such a doubly lopsided team made me work extra hard & be extra vigilant against enemy attacks. Was VERY surprised I pulled off that victory.

IIRC, the Snipers only had 4 kills each. ~_~' What good was their near permanent sniper posts?

Me being a sniper user myself, I gotta disagree on kiIIs don't matter. Especially on ranked. That's kinda the point of being a sniper, of course we should cover what ground we can but focus more on kiIIs. I can't name how many times I've taken teams out myself and lead my team to victory that way. Each time you kiII someone, they're out of the battle and that's crucial

OK, fair enough. But kills are not the end all, be all. If an enemy is inking ground that has no bearing on your team, especially if he'll be there a while & is separated from his team, leave him alone. Let him waste his time. He'll likely be there longer than his respawn time. Killing just to kill should not be the focus. Killing to further your team's progess should be.

Exactly, we're on the same page then XD It's just difficult for sniper users to do anything up close, you know? Gotta find good spots up hide and down low B)

I'm starting to drift into a sniping role as I main the Heavy Splattling. I get that you need to hang back. I get that taking the Tower leaves you extremely vulnerable. I also understand the "if he's in range, Splat him" mentality. But I'm getting tired of snipers not moving as the frontline is pushed ahead. Or me being the only on ON the frontline, when the Splattling is better suited as support

Oh my lordie, trust me I don't like this in other snipers either. Even though I stay back a bit, I push ahead too because I'll feel bad just sitting there as my team is struggling. Also the reason why I take the Rainmaker when I can, I'm decent shooting with it and my team doesn't have to worry about getting wiped out quickly

I've lost track of my victories from me making a last ditch, SOLO push to take the lead. I've lost track of how often I abandon the ONLY choke point to have to make that solo push, whether successful or not. I've also lost track of how often I abandon my range & become the only frontline defender, while my team is still back at base. It is amazing how good we do when I'm with mobile snipers!

I did that today! My team was close to losing and the rainmaker was next to our base with a low timer, I took it and ran not stopping to attack. I didn't get killed and we won by a knockout! I was so proud XD

& that choke point. Not where the Snipers are aiming ~_~' As to the Rainmaker, I hate players who grab it & pretend it's a Mega Inkzooka. I HAVE to try to grab the Rainmaker so I can make fast advances. Grab it, shoot once or twice, & get the Squid outta there! I find the routes few take. I mix up where I take it to confuse the enemy. I take it to a narrow corridor so it's stationary when we lead

Same here, although I charge it all the way for a big path. Then I just head as quickly as I can. I made an awful mistake playing for the first time, I took it back to my base because they were pushing us in. Well I wasn't thinking and they took it and got it very easy XD

I love having a good sniper with me. Or a teammate who will clear a path for the Tower or Rainmaker. I'll kamikaze to make an opening, if necessary. I use the threat of the Splattling as a decoy. I can't tell you how many KOs I've had due to the enemy sending 2 or 3 after me, while we were encroaching on the win. Or the times they take me out, instead of the objective when we're together.

I've had several victories because we push the Rainmaker, in enemy hands, further than they've managed forward progress! lol Assuming they even had any forward progress. & I usually fully charge the Rainmaker for my paths. Often get inadvertent kills that way.

I've had a few rounds playing with As where I was left alone to hold the Splat Zone (making my Slattling Gun rain Ink; most single Zone maps I don't need to move), while the others just covered me or takeout the enemy Some matches, my team was good enough for that to work. Others, we got flattened. Twice, back to back, I think, triple chargers! One win, the other lost... I think the teams flipped

That day I was quite proud of myself. A lowly B or B- being trusted to hold the Zones by much better players. By both sides (everyone else in the lobby was some degree of A). That showed I was skilled enough to be maining the Splattling!
