Will we ever see the Great Sea again in an LoZ title? I would open my first Discussion post, but I'm using a couple of saved screen shots from my WWHD playthrough this past week. My friend Justin86 got me thinking about this with a fine post about salvaging the Master Sword and what would happen to Ganondorf if it was removed from his stone corpse under the waves. Here's Baito to reference that,

Indeed Nintendoer, Baito does require the blocks to be moved in order to take the job. It's likely you never went up to the Mail Center w/out noticing the obvious shortcut creation, as I hastily did my first time through, to have learned this odd fact. Further stuff on Baito: That tattoo on the back? A Sheikah eye! The plot thickens ... also, he appears in the Hero of Time games as well.

Thisnbrings up some interesting thoughts. Did Demise's curse die with Hyrule, The Master Sword, and Hyrule? It would make complete sense for another reincarnation of Demise to appear, even if all hope is lost for Ganon. Tetra and Link survived, and That's all that's needed for a bad guy to appear.

You mean like one named Malladus? Because even in the new Hyrule, Zelda can't escape from trouble, it seems. Bellum might also qualify.

C'mon, I think we all know that Ferus is Demise's reincarnation. That childlike love of trains is obviously an act. When we get an ST sequel he'll show his true colors...

Viewing Bellum as an extension of Demise's curse makes a lot of sense to me. Perhaps the dying embers in the dream of a neighboring deity, come to stop an escape from Hyrule ... Malladus had an established role in New Hyrule before Hylia's bloodline arrived though. That seems a little harder to tie together, but I'm very open to the thought. Perhaps demons of a feather eh?

Malladus? Probably not, for the reasons Stag mentioned. I have a hard time viewing Bellum as a reincarnation as well, considering his apparent lack of intelligence. He seems more like a mindless beast to me, unlike Ganon's cunning self.

Sorry, I didn't mean Malladus was an incarnation of Demise, but rather that he would be part of the curse. Isn't it odd how Link and Tetra travels to a land that just happens to have a demon problem? Twice?

I I made a typo. I meant the Triforce, not to mention Hyrule again. I was writing it on my phone on a school bus. Typos are practically unavoidable. But back on topic, The King's wish might've broken the curse. The other villains can easily be explained by the fact that they existed before the King's wish. But, as we've seen with Link's wish in SS, the Triforce doesn't do anything extra when

You wish on it. You get one shot, and it does exactly what you say, and doesn't, y'know, destroy the only thing that can easily turn back that wish. All in all, I'm fairly certain that a fourth adult game isn't out of the question. I'd love to sea that game, actually, as WW is the only game to leave Hyrule, and whilst the DS games are good, they're kind of just subplots on the Zelda Timeline.

Cryptic, but effective Nintendoer. I get the gist. :p The curse seems unbroken, whether it is an actual representation of Demise trapped in a sword beneath the waves or not ... Mindless or not Fred, Bellum could be an unformed incarnation. Malladus has some striking physical resemblance to a certain Dark Beast in that form as well. Blakester, Zelda U could be in New Hyrule. A lot of leaning that

direction amongst speculation ... I'm all for an actual return visit to the old Hyrule later on that timeline myself, whether it gets brought back from the depths or not. There are numerous great story ideas for such a title.

Either there or after SS, which a lot of other people speculate... Regardless, I can't wait to see how Zelda U adds to the lore. That's all I have to add, I'll add my thoughts if anyone adds anything else I feel I should respond to.

Good point about Malladus, but lets not forget that some of his physical traits (particularly his horns) came from his use of Cole as a body. Who knows what he looked like originally...

Very true Fred, he's represented quite differently in Lokomo cut scenes iirc ... Awesome side discussion, but what kind of plot events, themes, or other elements would you guys toss out in a brainstorm if you were in the room with Aonuma while a new title on the Great Sea was being fleshed out? I've mentioned a Zora interloper from a distant land before. Maybe Aryll becomes a pirate captain?

More important than any of those, I would like a redesign of the sea. Forty-nine islands conveniently lining up in a perfect square isn't all that believable. Whilst that would force Wind Waker Two to take place on a completely different part of the sea, I would love a decent sized land mass, with a bunch of islands dotting the surroundings...

Maybe it's just me, but watching Hyrule flood at the end of WW still doesn't quite sit right with me to this day. If we were to get another game in the adult timeline I would love to see what happens to it over time. Is it submerged under the waves forever, or does some hand of fate intervene and resurrect the kingdom? Still can't believe how close Ganondorf came to making this a reality.

Tingle and Baito join forces to topple the freedom of the Great Sea's citizens with their overwhelming might. Also, what Blake said about bigger land masses. Sailing around in the open ocean is nice, but I'd like to see larger islands to poke around on. Most of them can be viewed in their entirety while sailing up to them, which is a bummer.

Sure, and it does detract from the traditional sense of exploration in lieu of a bunch of platforms ... a hybrid of both plenty of sparsely populated open seas and a few large overworld settings would be ideal, amending the biggest flaw in my two favorite LoZ titles. As long as it doesn't come out like TP's overworld ... ugh.

If you spend a little time talking to the Deku Tree after clearing the Forbidden Woods, he mentions how growing forests help make lands grow larger, and that how all the islands would eventually unite into one large landmass. What an interesting result that would be... possible new Hyrule in the making?
