    I'd guess it comes from an underground stream. In Washington state there is a waterfall that comes out of the side of a cliff, and that's where it comes from.

    Wow, now that changes everything. I guess my first question wouldn't be “Where does the water come from?”, it would be “How did this island get into the sky?” Its got me stumped. I'd like to know the answer to both questions.
