After my successful three-heart Minish Cap run I figured I'd try something even more difficult: a three-heart Hero mode Wind Waker run, part of the Challenge Chalice sponsored by Nintendoer. The rules to this will be... • No heart pieces/containers collected, except for one mandatory piece of heart • Must obtain Hero's Charm • Mandatory items only • No upgrades

  • I would say so far, so good, but I don't want to jinx it. Continuing on to part 2 of the Savage Labyrinth.

  • Prepare yourself Ganondorf, your end is nigh!

  • With just one light arrow Phantom Ganon has been defeated and will never show his face again...or will he?

  • Normally I don't like to save after defeating Puppet Ganon because I enjoy fighting its three forms. But just this once I will do so in the event I fall in the battle to come later.

  • I feel like I'm cheating by aiming at the snake from above. Better to be safe than sorry.

  • I really thought he was going to have his wish granted when I first saw this. There would have been no Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks if it did happen.

  • The final battle is underway, but first I'll give a rundown of my progress. The only optional items in the game are the magic armor and three bottles. I have half a bottle of Elixir Soup in my bottle, and Zelda is currently using my bow.

  • I have nothing in my Bait Bag, the Spoils Bag has everything but Blue Chu Jelly, and only the Cabana Deed is in my Delivery Bag. Here I only have the one piece of heart required to get a Triforce Shard, and I'll be using my Hero's Charm in a moment.

  • Here is what Nintendoer requested: three hearts, Ganondorf stunned by a light arrow, and Hero's Charm equipped.

  • Game, set and match. This concludes my Savage three-heart run of this game. With only eight Game Overs, I did a lot better than I had expected for a challenge like this. I will continue posting until the ending.

  • Everytime I watch this it almost brings a tear to my eye, but this isn't the last time we will see Daphnes. We now know that he and Tetra will be making their way onto Hyrule Warriors Legends, so who is looking forward to that?

  • Link and the pirates now set off to find a new place to call home. The late king said that this land would not be called Hyrule, so what shall the new land be called upon their arrival?

  • And here are my final results. I said before that I will do at least one more of these runs before the Chalice ends, but 70 points will be the most I plan to earn in the end.

  • Hyrule, of course. Those kids, disregarding the wishes of their elders... Congrats! You did very well during this run.

  • Well done bro! Especially commendable for a newbie to minimalism was the no upgrades. It adds interesting challenges, with magic especially, in this title.

  • As for Tetra and Daphnes in HWL, I am indeed looking forward to it. I still need to do the Termina Map, though, and I probably should get on that soon so the 3DS title seems fresh... I'll add it to my backlog, which I kinda regret having. I didn't used to have one, but with there being an influx of great games, and a decline in my free time...

  • Congratulations!! To beat your death count, I only have one death of buffer room left... And to tie it, two. This will make my next time playing the game a lot more intense...

  • Much appreciated, guys. I noticed this and should have posted it earlier. I kept the Hero's Charm equipped when I delivered the coup de grâce to Ganondorf. It is not on Link's face when Hyrule meets its end or when he and Tetra are found by the pirates, but it is in the final cutscene. Perhaps Link takes it to New Hyrule and is passed down onto ST Link, and is somewhere in his and Niko's house.
