Just got home from a con I attended as Anju, and I won best in show! I'm so excited! the judges loved my presentation and craftsmanship. I walked on to the stage playing the Song of Time on my Ocarina of Time while my friend crossplaying as Link followed me. When I finished the song, she put her hands above her head and I held the ocarina above them while she did the item get sound.

    Congrats! I wish I had actually learned how to play my IRL ocarina... I sound like Skull Kid in the opening scene of Majora's Mask (when he tries to play Link's after stealing it) whenever I try to play mine...

    @E Money It took me a really long time to memorize the Song of Time. Look up some ocarina tabs and it shows you the finger placement so it's easier than reading music (which I can't do at all). Also, instead of just blowing into the ocarina, say the word "two" into it. @Alex(Big A) It was actually very impromptu! We had no idea what to do when we went on stage so we just had to wing it. XD

    @Elzonire Unfortunately I didn't see anyone as Kafei. I was actually the only Zelda character that wasn't Link. XD

    Lol, the little instruction book that came with my ocarina actually had that same bit of advice about saying "two" instead of just blowing! But yeah, my main issue is more just getting the fingering down...

    @Elzonire Yeah, I was kinda bummed about being the only non-Link. I was really hoping there would be at least one Zelda! @E Money I had so much trouble with fingering. I gave myself hand cramps when trying to learn it. Eventually I got it down, but it took so long. @Midna I want to see what I looked like on stage as well. It's always so different from the audience's point of view.
