The strongest character in Smash is Mario.

He is the most balanced Fighter in the game. Easy to pickup and play for expert players like myself and for beginners. Long range fireballs,he can reflect with his cape,and his F.L.U.U.D can stop recovering Characters.Also he has enough power to stop a Ganondorf,or Bowser.

    I still Mario the edge over Dr.Mario Mario is quicker,and he has F.L.U.U.D. to push people off the stage.

    F.L.U.U.D doesn't need to do damage. It can mess you up if you a Ness player trying to recover on the stage.

    i think diddy is better because he has more range, a better recovery, a banana, a good enough projectile and very good combos. oh and he doesn't lose to marth and donkey kong.

    @ Devon Correct! Each player will play the game differently, meaning that it is not possible to ascertain that one character is the best. Nintendo did a good job balancing the fighters, so finding the best fighter overall is difficult, at best; but finding a definitive BEST fighter is IMPOSSIBLE.

    Mario has a better recovery then Diddy because diddy's is very easy to stop, while Mario's is one the hardest to stop.

    Well, in Smash, sure, he is the easiest to main, and it could be very easy to ledge-guard someone, I guess he's someone who you need a strategy with, and you'll most likely win. But he doesn't have hard-hitting long ranged attacks, so if you like to play from a distance (which is not the way this game is supposed to be played) then Mario ain't for you

    Mario can beat any character one on one.You can be quick as Sheik or Powerful as Bowser. It doesn't matter Mario is the best.

    I disagree, Quinn. Marth, Cloud, Corrin, and Rosalina can really give Mario a hard time as they have long range attacks forcing Mario to play defensive. Mario has historically had a hard time against characters with disjoints. Mario is great but he suffers from being countered by some lower tier characters.

    @Collin I'd love to agree but that is one character that has near undoable match ups and that character is Ganondorf. He is destroyed by any character that can throw stuff.

    I agree with you, Mario is an incredible character. He used to be my main, actually. Good projectile, nice mix-ups, decent recovery, great combos, and excellent air attacks. However, I wouldn't say he's the best character is Smash 4. He's definitely in the top 15 best characters, but he's not THE best. A skilled Sheik or Diddy Kong can beat Mario.

    I actually put him in my on personal tier list at top 5 (mostly because rep). However, I do think that will change once more Ryu start getting good placements in nationals.
