You may have to alter your team in a way that you can take better advantage of the leader/helper skills. If it helps, I used Bee Luigi, King Bill, Double Lakitu, Red Koopa Paratroopa, Red Koopa Troopa & Cheep Cheep, and Boo Mario to complete World 8-Castle, and the extra battle after it. Of course, I also did some level grinding as well.

YAY!!! I did it! I beat the game! I used your advice, but I used Flutter & Flame Chomp instead of Red Koopa Troopa & Cheep Cheep because of the Awoken Skill.

I had to have an ally who can attack with the Water attribute, which is why I had the Red Koopa Troopa & Cheep Cheep with me. After all, Boo Mario's leader/helper skill activates if I attack with 3+ attributes, and attacking with the Water attribute helps to activate it.
