Use Pokedex card to rearrange top 5 cards on my deck. Next 5 cards are all Energy. I'm glad I did something useful. ._.

  • If you really didn't need the energy, you could use a card that causes the deck to be shuffled like Energy Search or the move Call For Family.

  • It was more that I wasted the Pokedex card. Whole point is to rearrange them to get something useful faster, but in this case, it was all the same card.

  • That's why you shouldn't run Pokedex. It's too inconsistent, limited, and slow for my tastes. Bill, P.Oak, Comp. Search, etc. are much better imo.

  • I'm not a fan of Professor Oak, personally. I'm not a fan of sacrificing cards if I don't have to. Pokedex works for me in most instances.

  • You don't like P.Oak? I can respect your playstyle, but you plus SO HARD off of it! You basically draw 7 cards for very little cost (use everything in your hand that's valuable, discard stuff that isn't useful). It allows you to burn through your deck much faster, which is essential in a game like this imo. You get Evos faster, draw Trainer cards more reliably, etc. & you don't lose anything good.

  • Honestly, aside from Bill and perhaps Energy Removal it's probably the best card in the game imo due to the sheer amount of hand advantage it grants you. This single card can make you start winning a game that you were losing if you use it wisely; I'd recommend running 2 or 3 in almost any deck.

  • Too many Oaks though can cause you to lose if you use them in a 6-prize match and enough of your good cards are at the bottom of your deck.

  • That's why you make use of Comp.Search and Pokemon Trader to search out good cards. I've played this game quite a lot (415 win-streak in Dr. Mason's Challenge Machine) and I've only decked out 1 time. I've come close to decking out many times but I can almost always pull out the win. If you burn through half your deck in turn 3 but have Stage 2s prepped, then chances are you're going to win.

  • Again, I can respect your opinions and play preferences. I'm just saying that P.Oak is too good a tool to not utilize in my opinion. Obviously I wouldn't run 4 copies like I do for Bill, but 2-3 works wonders for me.
