Funnily enough, even though I've only caught 3 shinies myself (my other 15 were event/trade,) all the ones I caught were just in the middle of doing other things; -Bunnelby showed up when I wanted Riolu -Trapinch showed up when I was passing through Route 111 -Espurr showed up when I wanted Honedge in my Y Nuzlocke
