Well, I'm mystified. The first 3 times I attempted this chapter (on this playthrough), some guy named Harken appeared here. This time, and the first time I played this game, it was Karel. What caused the change?

    On this map, you can only defeat one promoted enemy to get Harken. To get Karel, you have to defeat two or more promoted enemies. Harken comes with a brave sword while Karel comes with a Wo Doa.

    Harken is a great unit in his own right. He virtually doesn't need a level-up to function, he's a pretty solid boss killer, and his durability is pretty top-notch. Karel? Not so much. His swordlock prevents him from being able to dominate. His Str's kinda lackluster, and his durability's so-so.

    Harken gets HHM bonuses and comes with the only Brave Sword in the game. Plus many people can recruit him.
