@Nopes- Why do people sexualize Pokemon, of all things? @Tempo- Tell that to the Splatoon Community. I told them to stop that, but, surprisingly, A LOT of people defended that. And then insulted me.

I agree; children use Miiverse, and even if they didn't, objectification of others for pleasure is wrong. I will never understand why people would defend that sort of thing. Next time I'm playing Splatoon, I'll do an in-game post about how you can appreciate things without s3xualizing them. If people want 14 year old half-squids/octopi with oversized breasts, they should look somewhere else.

^^exactly^^ But if they drew their fantasies on another website, they most likely would not be as popular, because there would be more of those drawings. The artists that draw those images here are most likely doing it so they can become popular quickly and easily. They elicit more shock, and therefore they gain more popularity.

I can agree, but now it's getting better. Chest size reduce by 5% (I'm just guessing, but it does look smaller), no bikinis, and less skin shown. Plus kids never check the popular posts (Which shows the drawings). Hell, I never check or even noticed tne popular posts intill middle 2014.

Also I've done some research, and this official. Inklings are 14+. Occurring to the Squid Research Lab, They get they're human form at the age of 14. So no, they're not 14. They're are 14+.

@Miles Can inkling girls/octolings be 14+? Sure! Are they still depicted as young girls? YES. They can be any age, but it is still wrong to post it on a children's site. Miiverse is for everyone, including kids. Splatoon is designed for kids, and kids are smart enough to find the popular posts on Miiverse. It has gotten better, I agree, but the issue is still there.

@everyone: honestly, though. It's really NOT that hard to look up this stuff on Deviantart or Tumblr. Why is it such a big deal to have it in Miiverse specifically? It's a family friendly website, meaning it's meant for all ages. But the specific audience is children.

Even if kids even do find these drawings, I bet It won't scarred them for life. Kids nowadays use Iphones, snapchat, and even know EVERY bad word by the age of 8. Even if they see a inappropriate drawing, It's just a typical day for them.

But does that stuff belong on this website? Does it really? When there are hundereds of other sites that allow and/or are specifically made for that purpose? Why is it so important to have sexualized drawings EVERYWHERE? Even on family-friendly sites.

@Squeebnton I've seen R34 posts of Splatoon on different sites. It's screwed up, but at the very VERY least, that type of art is in sites that's not designed for children. Adult stuff does deserve to go somewhere else that children, most likely, won't see.

Slightly related, but when I called Nintendo last year and jokingly asked for boards children can't access (I said 13+ but wanted to say 17+ since M-rated games exist,) she laughed. I tried... I just don't see what the big deal is over certain adult things (Specifically, why some words are considered bad.) No, I don't swear all the time since I often prefer the "cleaner" words, but still.

Although I agree, I don't think Miiverse is doing a great job at keeping content unsuitable for children away from them. They can create a 17+ version to accommodate adult players specifically or have restricted access on younger players for viewing certain communities. Or simply double down on inappropriate content or content breaching the TOS.

Right now a child could go to Bayonetta1/2 community and see sexually themed content. One of the worst would be in the Jpn 3DS community where a game called "Highschool DxD" and due to the nature of the game there's a lot of in-game posts of partial nudity or where "anime clouds" barely cover anything. Heck, any game where there's Mature content can be seen by a child if they visit the community.

I hope so, I can't check since I'm already old enough if there is a restriction now. All I can confirm is when in high school (younger than 18) during the earlier days of Miiverse I was able to access rated M game's communities.

Some people say that female characters in games are fictional, so de facto are objects. What I say to this: SEXIST!!! No matter if video game characters are fictional, people have no right to over-sexualize female game characters!!
