  • well good luck entering the competitive game! its hard, but dont ever get discouraged! a little advise: there is no need for 6IVs usually focusing on both attack and special attack reduces the max damage that can be dealt, also pay attention to the nature and the EVs.

  • BTW, in battle (and out), what affects do natures have? I'm not that good a trainer so I don't really know... Like, is an impish Pooémon less likely to dodge an attack than a sassy one? (That's just an example to illustrate my point, I don't really think that.)

  • Natures affect stats. They increase one stat by 10%, while lowering another by 10%. So an impish one will have more defense, at the cost of less special attack And a sassy one will have more special defense, at the cost of less speed. So it's important to pick the right nature for the right pokemon.

  • You can search for a table on Seribii that will show you the information for each nature, which is even better than the game guide actually. --- Also you may have noticed one stat is written in red, and one blue? The red one is the one your nature is boosting, while the blue is the one you're sacrificing a bit. If there is no coloured text, your nature is one of the few neutral ones.

  • Thanks GREEN! I had always wondered about the different coloured stats, but never noticed anything about them! That's really helpful for me! PS: Sorry I didn't see your comment when you posted it, I just got discharged from the ER.
