Ugh. I'm having ALOT of trouble with catching Shinies. First of all, i never EVEN SAW ONE BEFORE. second of all, i heard they are very rare, and there's usually only 1 chance out of...something thousand chances that you'll end up with one. I reeeaaally want one! I'd like to know if there is a certain route wich contains shinies...or a trick to getting one. any answers?

  • Try the masuda method, Pokéradar, or the fishing method. Those are pretty much the only ways i know, but the only one that's been successful so far is the masuda method. And no specific route triggers shinies. They just come up at random.

  • First be sure sure you completed the Pokedex, if you did, go to professor Sycamore and talk to him! He wil give you the shiney charm, whit that item you have a bigger chance of getting shineys! You can also breed whit eggs! Use a pokemon from your region, and a pokemon from a other region, the have to be in the same egg group, just use a ditto! You could also use the pokeradar!

  • Use the fishing method it usually guarantees you a shiny ptherwise don't bother I found shiny krabby and zigzagoon by luck and have a box full from chaining. Dont bother with radar its not a good enough chance

  • You get the Pokéradar in Sycamore's office, but i don't reccomend using it. It's REALLY complicated!

  • The first play through for me none of the methods worked. It was through my second play through heading to the League that I ran into a shiny Fearow.

  • The chance is (normally) 1 in 8192. Unless you use the Masuda method, consecutive fishing, Pokéradar, and I think there's another one, but I can't remember. Which one do you want more info on first? (I need motivation. xP)

  • If you breed whit a pokemon from other countries! Like a Charmander♂ from your country and a Charmander♀ or Ditto♀ from the UK! Or any country if it isnt yours!

  • PB★de'ano! has the right idea. It's very exact, but I know almost nothing about it. I like to use the Pokéradar and sometimes consecutive fishing.

  • I wouldn't try the masuda cos it takes way too long and radar is really complicated so I would go consecutive fishing its much easier.

  • Get a Pokémon with the ability Sticky Hold or Suction Cups, put it at the first place of your party, and fish until you get a shiny. Sticky Hold and Suction Cups insures you get a Pokémon on the line every time.

  • Ok so u need in the first slot of ur party and a pokemon like inkay with suction cups and give it a smoke ball or something to guarantee it running away from the battles. U cud also bring a false swiper for easier catches. Fish in one spot and u cannot move or the chain is broken. Also breaks if u fail to reel in the pkmn. Run from each battle and keep repeating the process until u find a shiny.
