  • The Giant Z is less quick and agile but has enough bulk to survive a few hits if needed. It also has the tactical advantage of being able to skrike at long range. I use the searcher to identify enemy subs while far off for both strikes and rendezvous. It isn't best at surface so I run Masker A for extra homing torpedo protection. A group of high health medics together is formidable!

  • The Silver Pike is a quick sub that is also one of the most maneuverable in the game. Great at evading fire. A potent weapon in the right hands its biggest flaws are a long reload time and low surface speed. I run a torpedo ace to mitigate the former and avoid the surface when possible. This sub thrives in close quarters, but remember to keep with your teammates. Either Masker is a good pick.

  • One difficulty when running a medic strategy is that experienced players tend to prefer the highest level opponent as their primary target. Whenever possible try to keep close to a player higher level than yourself to heal. It's counter productive if your team's medic is the first targeted and never gets to heal anyone. In this case focus on survival, the longer you last and distract the better.

  • Wow, this stuff is deep! The idea of becoming a kind of nurse never really appealed to me because I was always concerned that I would end up with more inexperienced teammates than the opposing team, if I needed to carry the bulk of the action I wouldn't have optimized stats. But now that this game has been out for over 1 1/2 years and everyone has a better grasp of the game, a medic sub seems...

  • like a good idea now. I'll try it on my Neptune MK if I get back into this game, it might be the best sub for the job because its base stats are already good enough to help you beat top notch players. Adding Sonar Buster and Maskers crew will make you the most annoying, but the most effective sailor in team combat.

  • Neptune Mark II might be good, I've never tried it myelf, but seen it done. It's speed might make getting near allies difficult, but it seems great otherwise.

  • The Medic is awesome, especially if others have it and everyone heals everyone else (healing stacks). That said, it's rarely useful in WW because people simply don't use teamwork as much as they should. I do love it when I'm on a team with someone using Medic. Makes me want to protect them more. I used Medic a lot when it first came out in team Friend Battles. Very effective with a good team.

  • I like the Sen Toku DLC sub when using Medic because with crew every stat is 7+. I add stealth members with it, but then I add stealth crew with every sub.

  • Yes the Sen Toku is great, very similar to the Seahound 2, but with one fewer base crew and a couple of notches slower. One reason I wish you had more control about your teammates is to make group tactics easier to implement.

  • Mispoke with the 7s comment. I don't get all the categories to 7. Still, I like it slightly more than the Seahound Advanced because it reloads faster, and has more torps. Plus, I gave it 6 crew members when remodeling became an option.

  • I always thought the riptide was a good/ok medic sub. With dive/surface like that and medium range torpedos, it would be easy to dodge and deal a good amount of damage while healing teammates.

  • Trouble with the Riptipe is its speed. It's so slow that you can't chase opponents down, will almost never get to an ally who needs help in time or be able to avoid an ambush. It is a very strong sub for one on one fights, but for team/group tactics it is hindered by its speed, big time.

  • Yeah, the Riptide is obnoxiously slow. When I first unlocked it I tried to make it my main, but after a couple of battles in the Underwater Caverns where I couldn't use the surface to travel faster, I had to bail. Took too long to get to teammates.

  • GiantZ is the original Mediƒluƒƒ. I use it with Medic, the heƒty guy [fast air intake], and Searcher. Healing allies can be a pivotal advantage in the encounter. I rarely if ever see others ising medic. I almost always equip that capability in my loadout.

  • I like using medic in large matches, 3 vs 3 or better, but avoid it otherwise. At times I use it heavily, ussually in WWR, but most of the time I use other options. Been on a bit of a kick again lately. I should work it onto my Walrus again, maybe drop Brute B.

  • Playing beats talking for sure, but when I can't play I think, and once my thoughts get in order I like to share them and discuss. Hope somebody finds some of my prattle useful, or interesting.
