    I don't know... As much as I love Inklings and stuff... I gotta consider the fact that the Splatoon world is just Earth 12000 years into the future... and the world is flooding. Inklings can't swim, and humanity already went extinct from the first flood. That's why the Octarians are banished underground; there's literally no room left for them on the surface.

    Not only would it actually suck to live in the Splatoon world for the reasons that everyone has already pointed out, but it doesn't make any sense, not only does earth not have enough ice caps to flood itself. Inland regions like the rocky mountains would be fine.
