  • In regards to the salt about the outcome of this Splatfest and many before it especially the ones in which the popular team lost I have composed a small meta study for the enrichment and enlightenment of my fellow squid about Splarfest the results and the etymology of it if you will. Splatfest results are calculated thusly "Popularity + (Wins x 4)". In other words, wins are the predominant factor

  • Every since Japan's first Splatfest players of the more popular team has had to play against there own team from time to time. This is so that players on the popular team dont have to wait an adsorbent amount of time for a match and has no detriment to their final score sine essentialy their win and loss cancel each other out. If anything it provides a short respite from the rigorous competition.

  • Popular & Skill win have been victorious 7 times. This means statistically speaking that playing against your own team has absolutely no bearing on the outcome of splatfest good or bad. It does show however that the more skilled players do tend to pick the more popular team by a narrow margin. To elaborate on the aforementioned Splatfest results formula I will illustrate.

  • Team Cars: Votes - 36% Wins - 54% Team Planes: Votes - 64% Wins - 46% Cars: 36% + (54% x 4) = 36% + 216 = 252 Planes: 64% + (46% x 4) = 64% + 184 = 248 Results: Cars win by 4 points It is my personal opinion that competitions should be determined by ability, skills and merit and not by popularity, but I digress. Thank you for participating in Splatfest and reading my posts.
