    Popularity is just to see which side had the most players And both sides get the 4x multiplier. For the record, I signed up for planes but I don't complain when I lose. We can't win all Splatfests anyways.

    I thought the point of Splatfest was a popularity contest, we can't play any of the competitive game modes, we can't even team with friends, why is win% a factor at all?

    Joel, Splatfest is not a popularity contest. It's a competition to see which theme is the better of the two. If it were, the whole event would be pointless because everyone would just pick the most popular no matter how much they dislike a side since the most popular will always win. Splatfest separates the skilled players to the not so skilled ones.
