Question

So what does everyone think of the changes from this game vs the original Yoshi's Island? As for me...

Love: The incresed difficulty of finding flowers and now yarn, all the cute Yoshi patterns, the inclusion of Poochy again Miss: Lives instead of gems I never really use, finding the hidden red coins (wish they made the yarn balls at least look like eggs but that's not a major thing) Thoughts?

It is a really fun game! And yes, I almost forgot about that frog boss! Such a fun and interesting boss fight. They seem to be recycling bosses too much in Woolly World. Ah well, the levels are still fun.

I'm on 5 now. I was ecstatic to see they paid tribute to Navel Piranha. Now... if Raphael the Raven just makes an appearance in World 5...

I just realized... it's interesting how, when judging Woolly World, that Yoshi's Island set the bar so high yet Yoshi's New Island set the bar so low

Heh yeah, I didn't want to spoil the naval part. That fight was decent. Eh, I didn't mind Yoshi's New Island as much. It was still fun, just not great. Maybe I didn't expect it to be great. It wasn't the level of bad like Paper Mario Sticker Star...

Oh man... don't get me started on Sticker Star. I'm so happy that we're seeing the Mario RPGs join forces to redeem themselves (dream team wasn't up to snuff either imo)

You know, I never finished Dream Team, so I guess I felt the same way. Bowser's Inside Story was so good that I could hardly put it down. In any case, I'm glad Nintendo is realizing their mistakes with the more spinoff type games. Hopefully we will see more Yoshi titles in the future that are as fun as Woolly World. I'm just glad to see Yoshi back on a console instead of on a handheld.

When I think about it, that is when the series went downhill. The next game after Yoshi's Story was Touch n Go. I remember a younger me getting it and thinking "Oh cool! A new Yoshi game!" And then after I played it... "Did I just spend money on a mini game??" Oh wait... wasn't there also a Yoshi gyro GBA game before that?

Heh, somehow I avoided the bad ones that came out right after Yoshi's Story. I liked Yoshi's Story's scoring mode with finding all the rare melons and coins. Who knows what they were thinking after that... Yoshi is cute but still needs substance in his games.

Yeah, the fruit thing wasn't so bad... and hidden exits for multiple paths too, if I remember correctly. I just hated that the egg throw ricochet was gone.

Ahhh really? I haven't tried it yet. 3-S was pretty frustrating. Now I'm curious about 4-S! Even 2-S took a few tries. They went all out on those S levels for sure.

Hey, Lydi! There's a free update to Super Mario Maker dropping on 11/4! It adds checkpoints (via shaking an arrow sign), stacking powerups (you can layer a mushroom on a fire flower which means it'll only be a fire flower if your super mario... or just a mushroom if your tiny mario). Also they've got new Nintendo levels, special event levels, and a harder version of Fly Swatter

Oh my... what was that level?! Anxiety much? Don't know how many times I died, but at least I managed to get all the yarns. Don't think I want to even try getting everything in one go heh.

And that's so exciting about new stuff for Mario Maker! Guess they have to keep everyone interested and playing. I'm glad it's going to be free, too. I'm not much for paying for dlc. Unless it's reeeaaaalllyyy good. Like Lucas in Smash ;)
