    I once got to level 14 with 2 lives left in expert mode then got blown up by a screen full of bowsers, I then gave up on the last life, I never played expert mode again

    It is more like the expert levels contain really bad enemy spam and cheap shots. These go in the expert... But really, it's not really hard, just annoying and cheap. Those levels are stupid.

    Expert isn't so much hard as it is cheap if you play it smart. You just need to know which courses to skip, and you can potentially complete the 16 courses with more than half of your lives in tact.

    Well, it IS not so bad if you get used to skipping any level that starts with an enemy near you. Just have that stylus or - button ready when you start a level.

    I tried it once, probably won't again. I skipped about 30 levels without beating one. Oh well, I didn't really need every costume.

    the invisible platform glitch (let's you put invisible platforms that are cheap) makes this mode messed up
