    from back to the future II when marty was tring to escape the cyborg bullies(because he was tring to change the future from his not to go son going to jail) in 2015 when he was riding the hover board unfortunately in 2015 hover boards didnt work on water so that is why he is stuck there

    The way I see it is that Hill Valley in the year 2015 has drifted to another dimension set apart by our own due to being a fictionalized town. (I'm sure there is a town called Hill Valley out there somewhere though)
