    To me it seems like a homage of the awesome megaman battle network games even the structure and character art direction looks so alike right down to the disorientated sprites depending on how far you move around the screen xD

    You should they are great classics. To be exact I think the sprite direction here looks nicer than how PADX used the latest Pokémon games 3D style to be honest ^^
