why does The pokemon company have such an iron grip on it's ip's? i know it's natural for companies to want to protect it's ip's, but this is just ridiculous. outside of smash, the pokemon amiibo have special functionality in 2 game: this and mario maker. in both cases it's halfway: generic sound effects in mario maker and a yoshi with the amiibo logo here.

    even the third party companies allowed more then the pokemon company. all 3 currently available 3rd party character amiibo unlock a unique pattern in this game, a mii racing suit in mk8, and the costumes in mario maker have sounds effects and music from the original games.

    I find it so funny that they're picky about how amiibo based on the Pokémon franchise are used, but they have no problem with free-to-start games that feel more cheap than fun.

    Plus the Shovel Knight Amiibo will probably also have a costume in this MK8 & Mario Maker. If Yacht Club can get an agreement with Nintendo for that anyways.

    Yeah, I've been questioning that...the only thing I can hope is that they're saving something super-special for a future Pokémon title, but so far the only thing I can find is that "Shadow Mewtwo", as a card rather than a figure, unlocks him in Pokkén Tournament...and they're only given out in first-wave bundles. And Tekken-style gameplay's not really my thing.

    Tekken is a lot more simple then street fighter. U don't need to input a 20 button sequence to do one attack.

    Although it's called Tekken with Pokémon, the game looks more like the Naruto fighting games to me.

    Regardless of which fighting series it resembles, it looks like a lot of fun. And Robert, if u can, try the arcade version before writing it off. I'm not a fan of tradional fighting games in the least, but pokken looks really promising.
