    This isn't the first time Pokémon amiibo have been exempt from cosmetic unlockable functionality: Mario Kart 8 wasn't compatible with any Pokémon amiibo either. The Pokémon Company is notoriously picky about licensing. We got Pokémon in Smash because their likenesses are untarnished, but a Mii racer or a yarn Yoshi with a Pokémon-ish appearance might be considered impure. So, chances are slim.
