I have devised a simple character-select room. The pipes drop mystery mushrooms neatly into those slots, allowing players to find out what they are and choose which character they want before moving on. A one-way track prevents players from returning for infinite mushrooms once they leave. I won't be posting the stage pictured for a while, I just thought this was a concept worth sharing.
