I've been having a hard time choosing the units before a mission. I want to use the units I know are good, but I also want to try units that I haven't used in the past.

    Personally, I rather try units to see if their good rather than hear other people's experiences. That unit might be better than you expected. I didn't prepromote Wallace in Lyn Hard Mode and l leveled him up to level 20 in Hector Mode. He's slower than Oswin, but has more Luck, Resistance, Strength, and Skill. I'm considering on using him again my next playthrough.

    FE7's easy enough for you to get away with using nearly anyone you want. Personally, I would see the support list first, and work my way from there when I'm deciding who to use. If it's a first playthrough, then I'll try out a unit and see if (s)he is good or bad.

    Don't mind this latish response. Everyone's at least usable. Even Renault, if only for having an auto A rank in staffs for fortify. Even then tho, Pent can do the same.
