Influenced by David Lynch?

Has anyone else picked up on the Lynchian themes? The mysterious characters you encounter in the game remind me a bit of Twin Peaks and Mulholland Dr. Even the sound design is reminiscent of Angelo Badalamente's Lynch scores. I suspect this game was the developer's homage.
