Yes! Decided to fire this up again and finish it. I guess I'll have a more informed opinion once I complete it. Not a huge fan of 3D Mario games, but I like this more than Galaxy games, not quite as much as Sunshine. So far. Now on to Champion's Road!

  • I've always preferred the hub world style 3D Mario games like Mario 64 and Sunshine, but 3D world is still good fun. Interested in seeing what the first NX Mario game will be. Good luck on Champs Road (if you haven't finished it yet.) Its a worthy final challenge!

  • I gave up yesterday. I didn't beat any of them. Going to give it another go soon. They are brutal though. Worse than DKC:TF brutal. Good to see you back. Haven't seen you post for a while.

  • Yeah, I feel guilty for not keeping up on here. A collection of reasons for it. The holiday season and some NX news should change that though :)

  • @Jon I so wish I would have kept up with my SNES collection. So many great games that still aren't (and never will be) on eShop.

  • Yeah, Champion's Road is the worst. I beat the Captain Toad stage, going to try to beat Champion's Road next, then I will hit up that crazy looking mystery house. The only good thing about Champion's Road is that since I need to go back all the time and get power ups/1ups it lets me beat a lot of the old levels as characters I haven't beaten them with.

  • Been using Peach mostly the entire game anyways, so that's who I'm trying to tackle Champion's Road with first. But man, it is annoying.

  • I pawned my N64 to get a PS1 for one game: Metal Gear Solid. But to this day I regret it. At least I experienced alot of those great games from Mario to Starfox. For some reason I was really bothered by all the text in the Zelda Ocarina game, so looking forward to nabbing that game soon and do some reading!

  • @Maurii I couldn't give Ocarina an unbiased opinion, because I'm bothered by excessive speech in all games. I couldn't make it more than a couple hours into Fire Emblem before I had to quit. I know it is an RPG, but no one would ever stop talking in that game.

  • Haha I know, it's like, 'i wanna play a video game, not read a book. (or in Metal Gear's case, not watch a movie!)

oh man, if i every had to part with my SNES collection... or any collection for that matter... i don't know if i could do it. i've always been one to hang onto games. what made you want to trade them in? in my impulsive teens, i traded in Skies of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube, and now those games are worth some cash. regrets...

and i'm with you guys - i don't want to read a lot of text in games. and it scrolls so slowly in OoT! i usually end up trying to skip a lot of text in games. just give me the basics and let me move on

  • I was in my mid-late teens and during a move I sort of just lost track of them. There are tons of them I miss. Weaponlord, Uniracers, Primal Rage, Secret of Evermore. My SNES hadn't even turned yellow yet!

  • I was just young, stupid, and unemployed when I'd sell a systemI really thought I was 'upgrading'. It's a shame really, but in reality I don't have a house, just renting, no room to store 'stuff'. Retro gaming is peaking, collectors, not gamers are jacking up prices. I may get a used NES just to please my 80 year old future self!

  • @Mauri, Jon, Michael - I collect all Nintendo systems as well, to play and enjoy more than collect. I know what you mean Mauri about being young and stupid, it took me till I was 23 before I decided to stop trading in games and systems, ESPECIALLY Nintendo products. I lost a lot of gold doing that.

  • I managed to rebuy an N64 with every game I used to own as well as games I had played but didn't own. Even managed to pick up some games I had always wanted to play. I have a pretty nice collection for that system. I even have 4 memory cards and a game shark. Lol

  • Although I've never been able to get back into finding a SNES and NES simply because I don't have the room for all those cartridges. I wish I did. The SNES and N64 have some of my all time favorite games.

  • I definitely want to score an SNES in the future. That was probably my favorite system. Despite the first Mortal Kombat game having grey blood :(
