Wait a minute... I had only heard of it. I hadn't seen the trailer...until now. Nintendo, I'm officially done with you. I'm NOT buying that. A cheap marketing ploy just so you can sell more pointless amiibo? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? That is NOT an HD remake. Where's the advanced lighting? Upgrade in polygon count? Boosted frame rate? VIVID HD TEXTURES??? no. I'm done. Nintendo, you've fallen far.

@Sherron: The "good amount of time" is less than six months. That's not nearly enough time to pull a major graphical upgrade. The extra time needed to do that would delay the game as badly as Zelda U. When they show off a game this late in development, what we see is what we get.

Your excuses for the other characters I've mentioned consist entirely of how they were treated in the games themselves. Since you've criticized Linkle before seeing her full role in any game, those claims are inadmissible. Again, there's currently no reason to think that Linkle won't serve some symbolic purpose.

Furthermore, if Tingle's inclusion for a 'very comedic purpose' is good enough for you. Then how is Linkle's inclusion bother you so much? She too could be seen as a spoof of our hero. By the way, Tingle has a rather thought-provoking backstory tied to him and is much more than mere comedic relief. But you choose to see him (and Linkle) as simplistically as possible, so it is no wonder that you

fail to recognize them as full characters in their own right. You are like a person who goes to a museum and and dismisses the art there by saying: "I don't get it." You are really making a statement about your own lack of understanding rather than the art itself. Saying Dark Link and Link are symbols of Light and Dark duality is a stretch because neither of them do anything challenge or provoke

thought about that duality. Dark Link does nothing beyond his appearance to insinuate that he has any similarity to Link. He doesn't suggest that he and Link are connected and are circumstance alone determines their darkness or lightness. He doesn't even stand for any particular evil or darkness either. He just shows up as an enemy to face. And when defeated nothing is done to suggest that Link h

as defeated the darkness within himself or is embroiled in an on-going struggle with that very darkness as in accordance with the traditional Yin-Yang depiction of Light and Dark. It is simply one more enemy down. If anything, Ganondorf does a much better job in all categories at representing the Light and Dark duality. Dark Link just kinda shows up and needs to be fought to continue on.

Also, it has been stated outright that Termina is a parallel world and not some manifestation of Link's subconscious as various fan-theories purported. And most people generally see Anju and the Cuckoo lady to be separate characters despite sharing the same exact model. Yet, you do not see Linkle to be her own character even though her design is comparatively quite different from Link's.

@Paul, you forget though that Hyrule Warriors is not a story-oriented game, and therefore suggesting that a character would play a pivotal role to "the story" is weak at best. Had this been part of the main series, I'd more than likely come to the same conclusion, but I wouldn't be so quick to do so. I'm completely aware of Tingle and his back story, I just see it as uninteresting. You assume

much to say that I only look at things in the most simple light possible; especially when you are the one doing just that with Dark Link. I see it as tacit poignancy that takes observation and cognition to perceive rather than what is visually shown or said. You are taking Dark Link from OoT, but keep in mind that he has appeared in other works as well. And yes, Ganondorf does do a better job of

showing the overall struggle of light and dark, but Dark Link shows more of an internal struggle. It's like watching The Empire Strikes Back during the part where Luke fights what he perceives to be Vader on Dagobah (hope I spelled that right). Looking at that on a base level, it's just something that Luke must do. But on a deeper, more analytical level, it means far far more about Luke and his

Where is it stated that it isn't some form of Link's subconscious? I don't believe that he's dead in the game, but there's far more to it than simply "Oh look, an incredibly similar world"

It's been stated on the original game box, by the developers themselves, as well as in Hyrule Historia. I specifically focused on Dark Link from OOT because his appearance there had no effect on the story so its more like Hyrule Warriors which has minimal story. I am of aware of his appearances in other games and ask you to consider that it's not at all unreasonable to expect the same from Linkle.

I'm glad to hear that you agree that characters must be analyzed closely to fully discover the depth of each of them. I simply think that by passing judgment so quickly you have not afforded Linkle the same amount of critical consideration. As for Dark Link, while it is true he represents some sort of internal struggle. Nothing happening in the story of OOT delves deeper into that struggle.

"Parallel World" doesn't mean it's exclusive from Link's subconscious. I can create an imaginary world in my head with people from my own life, and that would be considered a parallel world/universe. It just means that the world mostly mirrors reality, so it is more than reasonable to say that Termina, given all the evidence for my claim, is actually a part of Link's subconscious. I haven't

been focusing on OoT Link, so that's where the confusion lies. His OoT appearance definitely could have themes around it, but given the narrative of the game there is too little evidence to analyze that. You're right, it isn't unreasonable to expect that from Linkle, but it's HIGHLY improbable, given that HW is not a story-oriented game. Checkmate.
