Wait a minute, hold up. So people think that the Smash Ballot will result in only ONE character being revealed!? Because ever since the ballot was announced I always thought it would be MULTIPLE new fighters. There will not be just ONE winner. Is there somewhere set in stone that says only ONE character can be the winner?

    The opposite, actually. It's set in stone that there will be multiple characters added. In an interview, Sakurai said something along the lines of "We can't keep the development team together forever, so we only have time to add several more characters." While not specifying a specific amount, that does mean there will be more than one character added.

    @C. Turtle yeah that's what I thought! A lot of people are claiming we'll only get one character. Pretty strange they think that. I still think we got a handful of DLC character announcements to be revealed.

    Everyone's just had it set in their minds that the character that gets the most votes, the "winner", will be the one added and that's it, which couldn't be further from the truth.
