K, thanks for the info. Both of my kids love building Legos & playing all of the Lego games. The game will be on sale at Walmart's Black Friday sale. I'll check out ToysRUs for the packs....thanks again :)

For the most extra content at the least price, I recommend also getting the Doctor and Scooby. That'll get you many of the extra abilitys you'll need.

There are Level, Team and Fun Packs. Dr. Who is a level pack and opens up their own level. Scubby Doo is a team pack. I got Unikitty, a fun pack which opens a lego movie world where you can get collectables. Go to the lego site for info on each type.

I have played 6-7 of the story line and it's excellent. I have not played any of the alternate levels from the level set. I have played two of the alternate worlds to get collectables, the Scubby Doo and Lego movie, these are where the red bricks are. the story line does have some intense areas that might frighten small children. Depends on the child. Part of the story is in the wizard of oz,

another part is from Dr Who. That one scared my 8 yr old some. It's based around the episode "Blink". These are part on the main story. As I play more, there may be others. But, I have really enjoyed the challenges. Also, studs are important and I think there is only one red brick multiplier, 2x. It will make the game more challenging as studs are required to upgrade vehicles.

I was able to make a post to the journal early on. The other issue is lego game pad stays lit up even when I exit and close the game.

Ooooo, not cool. If the problem gets worse, call the help number on the box. I hear they've been very helpful at fixing, or if necessary, replacing, malfunctions. And if you do, let us know what the fix is. Or if you just manage to work around it.
