REVIEW-Super Mario 3D Land So the design here i think plays out alot more like a 2D Mario title but in a 3D landscape. You See... The typical 3D Mario game has players exploring large worlds in order to complete a specified task to then collect a final star. But here at 3D world things are definitely structerd more like A 2D Mario title. It's kind of strange beacuse i almost feel like 3D world is

a vey good 2D mario game. I do sorta like the more linear straightforward gameplay but i also... Defenitley miss the big open worlds of Mario 64 and sunshine. Exploration seems to be toned down a bit here. 3D worlds design is based on 3D Land on the nintendo 3DS. The Problem here is Alot of the stuff from 3D land dosen't work quite as well on a home console

.Many of these levels are still designed as if you're viewing them in 3D But. Y'know we're not. There were sevral times where i would misjudge jumps and have a bit of trouble hopping on an enemy. It's not a huge problem but it's something i definitely noticed. Now one of the really great aspects of the gameplay is the ability to play as different charcters who all have their own uniqe Abilites.

So Mario is an all around player. Luigi can jump really high. Princess Peach can hover in the air. And Toad is able to run really fast. Switching Around who you play as based on the diffrent levels can actually be quite benefital and there's some very intresting strategy there. The COMPLETE. OVERLOAD of great powerups and items i think is something that really stands out here.
