Question

Can I befriend Pokemon in dungeons by killing them (best phrase ever) yet?

I just finished Vulpix's first quest, and I want to grind using the pellipper island feature for a Furfrou. If I can't yet (they haven't outright explained if I can yet) do it, please try to tell me spoiler free.
