Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival

There are SEVERAL games that are so bad that companies & consumers should be ashamed of having anything to do with it. There are SEVERAL terrible games that ruin the industry with their production. It's a grand flaw that people categorize this game into either of the two categories. Not only does it blind people from seeing the real problems in the industry, but it compliments the real bad games.

  • This game is nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. Is it amazing? Hardly. Is it even good? That's debatable by audience. Is this made for the hardcore gamer? Not at all. Will this please Animal Crossing fans? If they like the game, yes. If not, it will only upset them more.

  • "It will only upset them more" is the main focus here. If the Wii U had a full-fledge Animal Crossing game, would people complain about this one? Eh. Barely. If this released shortly after New Leaf, would people be utterly disappointed by this one? Not too much. It's the game drought, combined with people's hunger for a new home console AC game, that makes this game the target of people's scorn.

  • By itself, it's charming, and one of the very, extremely few better quality games that allows casual competition without any arguments breaking out. A video game board game that doesn't raise the heart rate with its completely chill vibe. That's gotta' be a first. Is it for everyone? Heck no! Is it for a large audience? Not as a main game. This isn't for many people. But there are people for it.

  • "But it's just a ploy to make you buy more Amiibo!" Yep, just like GI Joe and Transformers were made to make you buy toys. "But at least those were entertaining!" This is entertaining. Just not for everyone. "They should've just made another Animal Crossing instead!" More than likely that team is busy with a different game. You don't want the ones who made this game to make a full AC game.

  • "It's not worth $60 + $1928373 for Amiibo just to play it!!" You're right. It's not. In fact, it's essentially $30, maybe less than that if you consider that Digby is out for a limited run. And it comes with Amiibo already. I cannot find any New copies without an Amiibo bundle attached to it. So... you're not paying extra for it.

  • "It should be free! But the Amiibo sold separately!" Valid argument... but two problems can come from this: 1) Scalpers buy out all related Amiibo, now no one can play it without paying extra. 2) The game becomes far more Amiibo dependent (removing Villager CPU opponents and increasing necessary amounts of Amiibo cards per mini game) in order to guarantee payment for the game's development + some.

  • Point is... this game is so-so overall. More than a handful of people will like it, few people will love it. A large amount of people wouldn't find it worth their time, very few would despise its existence. If anything were to go against this grain: it would be just a bandwagon movement. That's all this hate is: bandwagon reactionary hatred. It isn't a bad game. But it is disappointing for most.

  • I like the game. My wife loves the game. Would I buy a Wii U for this game? Heck no. Would I sell my Wii U because of this game? That's childish. Would I go out of my way to get this game? If I wanted Digby. And I did. Would I recommend this game to others? I'd ask them to play it at someone else's house (yes, that's still possible) before buying. It REALLY depends on the company you have.

  • Lastly: Aren't I sad that no Animal Crossing released for the Wii U? Partially. But... 1) I played the heck outta' New Leaf, I'm not starved of AC. 2) If Nintendo wants to connect all platforms with an online account, they may have reserved AC as one of the prime examples for its benefits - pushing development further to succeed in that (possibly for NX?). 3) I'm patient & have other things to do.

  • lol i don't wanna buy this because it seems so simple and not worth 60$ + amiibo to me but i think people saying IT SUCKS/IT'S THE WORSE THING EVER should just see it as it's not made for them, i think it looks fun just not worth the money but mabye they'll update it who knows :p. I am disapointed with there being no real ac game for wii u yet but im sure we'll see one eventually

  • I was a bit worried after playing the first round, but the minigames help. It's not the Animal Crossing we want, it's a little nibble to stave off the hunger. At the very least, I like this better than the most recent Mario Party games.

  • If I had to pick, I'd much rather this than Mario party. They made ten Mario parties. Maybe this is a sign that Nintendo is finally done with Mario party.
