Question

So quick question~

I've started off as Fennekin, I haven't made it to level 16 yet, but I am wondering, if I hit level 16 early on in the game, will I evolve into Braxien? Or do I have to beat the game/progress further into the story before I can evolve? My teacher already told me about evolution so I've been sticking around in dungeons so I can get to level 16. [Spoliers Please.][For Courtesy.]

As with the other games in the series, you and your partner can't evolve until after you beat the post-game story. Unlike Gates to Infinity and the WiiWare titles (but like Red Rescue Team and the DS titles), other Pokémon can't evolve until after the credits roll. Pokémon with major roles in Serene Village, the storyline, etc. (like Nuzleaf, Goomy, and Deerling) cannot be evolved.

There are a few times in dungeons where an enemy pokemon will randomly evolve after one of it's attacks, but you and your partner have to wait until a pokemon learns of an area to evolve, then explore a dungeon that leads to the place. Though it's always after the events in the game that you are ever able to evolve.

They don't randomly evolve, they evolve if they defeat an enemy AND no reviver seed is used.
