Question

(Only read if you have completed the game!)

May someone explain to me why my partner left the Pokémon world, and not me? We both completed the same role to save the world. Why is it that I do not return to the human world after fulfilling our roles, and my partner leaves instead? I understand that we failed at defeating Dark Matter in the past, as human and Mew. Maybe I'm just missing something?

    This has happened before in a much older mystery dungeon game, explorers of darkness and has had reverse roles in Infinity dungeon, I can't relate to this game yet because I don't have it but I can give you some background knowledge of the past games and that could be why they are doing it again in this game.

    Mew was part of dark matter, so when it was destroyed, the partner (since they are Mew) set in motion their own destruction. It wasn't just about fulfilling their role, they were literally destroyed, just slowly, culminating in disappearing on the hill.

    I didn't get this part either. If Mew is still a part of Dark Matter and that's why (s)he has to leave, then why isn't everyone having to leave? It is stated, after all, that everyone has a part of Dark Matter in them.
