  • gates wasn't bad as a game, just as a mystery dungeon. and the japan only wii ware games are the worst mystery dungeons

  • Oh, if you already have the game, make sure your are well prepared entering a Dungeon. Enemies mostly shows no Mercy so strategy is very important. I am also waiting for anyone who can rescue me in the Purifying Cave....

  • I heard you can't go back into dungeons in the during the story, is that going to be a problem, I always used dungeons to train in explorers of darkness

  • You heard correctly, and it's not as much of a problem as it sounds. First off, Pelipper Island lets you revisit some dungeons, so you can always use that to get more items/money/exp (EXP is shared like Gates, so that helps). I'm only on Chapter 9 so far, but I haven't had any problems yet. I've been exploring each dungeon floor thoroughly just to get more EXP though, and it's working so far.

  • It actually makes a bit more sense that way though storyline perspective. I always found it weird how you can go do random missions while some story crisis was going on that needed your immediate attention. Oh, and use items. Unlike other PMDs where I usually go in itemless, this ones harder, and item use is more necessary.

  • Ok thanks :)

  • The fact that ALL the pokemon appear in this game was enough for me. That's something that GTI lacked. Trying to recruit all the pokemon was a fun goal to work towards in Rescue Team and Explorers, and it greatly extended the length of the game. But I'm also glad the mechanics are deeper.

  • The first 2 PMD games didn't have good tutorials, and because of that, many little children who didn't understand how the game works gave up in disgust. So you'd think that GTI would have good tutorials to ease kids into the complex mechanics, but no. They just removed the complex mechanics entirely. But that's what Super does right. Much better tutorials to explain the game's complexities.

  • It's very much worth it.

  • Even though I know the ending of the game by watching a Japanese playthrough, this game has been worth it so far. Yes, the beginning is a bit tough, but that's only until you get a handle on the fun gameplay. The plot is amazing, and I've found myself entertained at every turn. Despite this game's shortcomings, the great story and game mechanics outweigh the bad. :D I highly recommend this game.

  • PSMD is almost the game that Gates SHOULD have been. Coming from someone who actually enjoyed Gates. Lots of cameos of all three main PMD games. 20 starters (Riolu, Pikachu, the 18 main series starters) with both quiz AND option for manual pick. Though you don't pick your gender this time, they were smart enough to avoid gendered pronouns for you/partner. But, one Explorers cameo is wrong gender.

  • Many elements are borrowed from Gates. Shared EXP, some music, etc. Overall less EXP gain, to prevent overleveling. MOST common Gates issues got addressed. Rescue Mails return as both QR code and Password. As a whole, dungeons are shorter but individual enemies are more dangerous. Bosses get early recovery from status. But not evade/endure near death. Orbs can still be used during bosses.

  • That's wonderful!! I think you'll enjoy the game, what with its EXTENSIVE [main story] soundtrack, riveting storyline, and excitingly fun gameplay. :D

  • I'm at Poliwrath River, is it hard? My partner is a Chimchar and i'm guessing there's a lot of water type pokemon.

  • Yeah. It was the first dungeon I had trouble in (Charmander/Totodile, so was at a type disadvantage). It's easier with a grass partner, but it's still doable. Just bring along some items (esp. tiny reviver seeds) just in case.

  • I just finished it, it was pretty hard. Now i'm trying to figure out a team name. I almost always do team Skyblazers, but I want to try something different.

  • Good luck! I'm uncreative with that, and just used the same name as my RT/EoS/GtI games. At least your game opened up.

  • I think i'm just going to go with Team Skyblazers, my partner is a Chimchar anyway.
