These improvements LITERALLY shocked me. XD (slight spoilers↓)

Not only can you change your team leader the minute you get a new team member, but you can also change leaders mid-dungeon?! I cannot express enough how awesome that is to me, in the last Mystery Dungeon game I played it took FOREVER to do that.

    I know! I'm really enjoying the new interface improvements right now! So much easier to play! And while you could switch in Red/Blue, I don't think that unlocked in there until postgame. Here, you get it sooner.
