i'm getting this game,what type combo should i go for? ( i'm thinking my typically electric/water combo for myself and my partner) that combo has always served me well in the past (especially if the water starter is mudkip) said combo's only real weakness is grass XD

It doesn't matter much. Just use whatever pokemon you like the best.

I'd suggest having at least one Water-type, but it's your call. Pikachu/Riolu combo is perfectly fine.
