I love Smash, but I never have played Street Fighter. Is this an OK game to start with?

If you want to go from a casual fighter to a more advanced one, I'd say yes. This would very much be a great step in the right direction. Street Fighter has a lot of more advanced techniques that you will need to master, so work hard and you will make a great transition.

  • Its different than smash definitely. Smash is easier as far as performing the moves...also this game is retro so u wont have the same feelings as i did. i grew up with it. If u love fighting games then yes try it...just go in knowing its retro! If u do love it then i will love you!! Love fighting game players!!!

  • I would recommend Ultra Street Fighter 4 instead of this one.

  • i have both. i would like to mention that ultra street fighter 4 is probably one of the best fighting games i've played. its not easy and nothing like smash. smash is amazing in its own right but check out usf4.

  • I'd recommend the ones that were introduced on console. The only exception would be Super Street Fighter IV for the 3DS but that game is only recommended if you lack games for the 3DS or lack means on getting Ultra Street Fighter IV.

  • Nothing like going back to the classic, the fighting game that started it all. It's a completely different beast than Smash Bros. though, but don't let the transition daunt you. Put in the effort to learn and you'll figure it out.

  • i started on street fighter then played smash

  • I like Street Fighter the most out of all fighting games I play (Killer Instinct, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Smash)
